This seventh issue of the Australian Deadly & Dangerous Series honors the animal which by some people is considered to be the most dangerous and frightening spider in the world – the Funnel-Web Spider. This spider is relatively large, fast and aggressive when threatened. That is why it is the cause for almost half of the recorded spider-bite deaths in Australia over the last century. It is known for its distinctive web from which it takes its name and armed with an array of potentially deadly toxins. The Funnel-Web Spider grips its victims tightly and bites repeatedly with its large and powerful fangs.
