Design
The reverse image by Pierre Leduc steps into the mountains of western Canada, where the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) is most commonly found. A selectively coloured eagle flies on broad wings in the foreground, where the three-quarter view allows the careful study of its distinctive, finger-like flight feathers. Two additional golden eagles fly across the sky on a separate scene in the background, where the embedded multi-frame hologram re-creates their flight movements. The reverse also includes the word "CANADA" and the year "2019". The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
