Design:

Designed by Canadian artist Nathalie Lagacé, the coin's reverse features a finely detailed, engraved rendering of a sugar maple (Acer saccharum) leaf. Blue rhodium surrounds the leaf and fills the field, where a laser-engraved maple leaf pattern forms a dynamic backdrop. Both the pattern and the blue rhodium plating similarly appear on the obverse, which features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
