In 1911, two silver trial strikes and one lead strike were produced in preparation for the issue of a first Canadian silver dollar coin. However, this coin was never issued. It was not until 1935 that the government authorized the very first sterling silver dollar coin to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the accession to the throne of His Royal Majesty King George V. 

Design

The 1911 Canadian silver dollar is the most valuable Canadian coin. Of the three known strikes produced in 1911, two are on display at the National Currency Museum in Ottawa and one is in private hands. The origin and conception behind the development of the contemplated 1911 Canadian silver dollar are of great interest to numismatists. The issue of a replica of this 1911 coin is expected to be very popular and a must-have for the avid collectors.
