2020 Canadian 10-Cent Bluenose Schooner Dime First Strikes Special Wrap Coin Roll

Artist Emanuel Hahn developed his design for the 10-cent coin from photos of the famous Bluenose schooner. It is meant to symbolize both the magnitude of the fishing industry in Canada and the maritime skills of Canadians. The Bluenose was not only a racing schooner, but also one of the great fishing vessels that helped build the reputation of the Grand Banks fishery. The design was first issued in 1937.

Design

The obverse design by Dora de Pedry-Hunt and Ago Aarand depicts the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in right profile, when she was 77 years old. It is surrounded with the inscription "ELIZABETH II D • G • REGINA". The RCM Maple Leaf privy sits under the bust.

This coin depicts the Bluenose under sail, a Canadian schooner from Nova Scotia, a celebrated racing ship and a symbol of the province. It is surrounded with the facial value, the year of issue and the inscription "CANADA".

Packaging

Each roll contains 50 coins of Royal Canadian Mint issued 2020 Canadian 10-Cent Bluenose Schooner dimes in unopened First Strikes Mint coin wrapper.
