This 1-dollar coin is a special tribute to Jack Miner, one of the world's most influential conservationists who founded a bird sanctuary in 1904 to study migrating Canada geese and other wild ducks.

This loonie coin was originally released in a Royal Canadian Mint yearly specimen set.

Design:

The obverse design features a bust image of Queen Elizabeth II and the phrase "ELIZABETH II D.G. REGINA".

This reverse designed and engraved by Susan Taylor celebrates the Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary and features a flock of Canada Geese in flight.
