1992 (1867-) Canadian 25-Cent Saskatchewan Confederation 125th Anniv/Provincial Quarter Proof Sterling Silver Coin
Saskatchewan's Provincial 25-cent coin depicts the Prairies and its treeless landscape, wheat fields, grain elevators, and a freight train. Created in 1905 from The Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan is the only province with no natural boundaries.
Design
The obverse design features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 64 years old, wearing a new crown, surrounded by the Latin inscription "ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA". This was the first effigy to be designed by a Canadian, Dora de Pédery-Hunt.
For the 125th Anniversary of Canada's Confederation, twelve new 25-cent obverses were designed (one released each month) honouring the ten provinces and two terroitories.
